Thumbs up GP trouble shooting - another method

Just finished doing a trouble shoot on my lingering GP problem. You know the symptoms- no GP light, hard starting, etc. Resolution gets down to just a few areas. BTW - thanks for the stickies, and previous posts, they were very useful.

In my situation, I did not know if my GP relay (and/or fuse) were bad, or was it just the GP's? I tried another search on GP troubleshooting tips, but did not find a consice answer (perhaps I missed something). Anyway (hopefully), I came up with a 'shortcut' to narrow down the problem area.

Next to the GP relay there is a 5 pin connector that contains the 5 wires that lead to each of the GP's. With the Ignition on, you can test (with a DVM)each of the 5 pins for DC voltage. If you get 12 V (or better) reading at each of the pins, then you can rule out both the GP relay and the GP 80Amp fuse as problems. That means that you only have a GP problem! From that point on just follow the related sticky! Five new GPs later problem solved!!

Cheers
