In a recent expen$ive restoration of my 240D, I let the body shop replace the front windshield which had a small crack and some body rust extending under the gasket, the glass was $250. the rear windshield was leaking pretty bad, I had a pan inside the trunk to contain some of the water. On the rear the glass was ok, it only needed a new gasket, no rust was found under the gasket and the leak totally stopped with the new gasket.
