Hi all,

Glad the filter info helped but sorry made you guess at their website address!

I bought a box of 50 filters, too. Part number I'm using is PBEIF10P1S. They're rated at 10 Microns, and are about 7" diameter by 16" long. Price is $2.17 each. They have a metal ring sewn in around the opening. What I do is punch holes on opposite sides and tie a piece of wire to make a loop that the bag hangs from.

I'm out of oil at the moment but will get more this weekend and post a picture of the fabulous gravity feed operation.

Now that I've got the veg oil gig figured out, it's time to learn how to make biodiesel...

Fred

Fred,

Thanks for the reply. When you look at the website, they list a million filters. The West Coast warehouse shipped me three samples #BPONG10P2PWE. They are 30 inches long and run about #3.00 ea. I'm beginning to think all the filters are the same and the part # changes with lenghth, micron rating, and filter housing application. You said yours have a wire ring while mine have a heavy plastic ring. I guess that part doesn't matter to those of us who are going to hang it from a work bench. My question now is a shorter or longer sock better?

Peter

Here's a pic of my WVO filtering setup and my biodiesel preheat drum. I set up my shed with piping so all I have to do is plug my pump onto the quick connect on the outside of the shed & pump my WVO into whichever drum I want to fill, each one has a ball valve on it. The filter housings are 4" PVC with various fittings so I can hold a sock filter in it. So far it's working really well, I filtered half a drum in about 2 days with one of those 10 micron filters from FSI.

Oh, no wonder!! Glad to see you're on this board too, it's helped me a lot.

Just picked up one of those little Purolator fuel pumps, 5-7psi to give my veggie a little push and to help with purging the lines of air when I clean the fuel filter.
