Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have a 92 300CE w/ a Becker unit. Just purchased an Alpine CD Changer CHM-S601. I found an interface under the rear seat that shows two connections. One say "to alpine" and other to "unit". The changer has the cable but the Becker does not. I called the dealer to get a cable (MB part# Q6 82-0135) and guess what, not a single one available anywhere in the country. What can I do? Who to turn to? Please help!!!

I added a Alpine CD changer to my 93' 400E this past Fall. If you can't find the interface cable at PartsShop, then try Fletcher-Jones Mercedes in CA. They have a dedicated mail-order division, ship UPS, and sell at discount prices. Their phone # is 1-800-328-3095. That is where I was able to get mine. Hopefully, they can help you. I was able to add the changer and all the necessary cables and interface for around $450.

I just installed a Becker 10 disk changer in my 92 300CE. Never had to go beneath the rear seats but I do know the Alpine units need an "interface" device that mounts to the rear of the Alpine changer - it's displayed well in the MBZ service manual. Maybe some of my info will help you out.
