Replacement Speaker Sizes and Grilles?
I replaced my worn-out, ineffective, terrible-sounding 1980s or maybe early 90s speakers with a set of Polk Audio ones. Trouble is they don't quite fit the factory mounting locations...
The fronts, they're slightly too high but fit in the spot okay. The speaker covers, thusly, stick up a little bit. That's not a big problem, but eh. I lost the original screws, though. Does anyone know what size screw should be there? I've got some huge silver screws sticking up like an inch that look really bad, I need to get the right size again. Finally, the rears. The stock speakers were 5.25", and the best I could find were 5.5" so I cut the MDF in the back and they fit, and I'm using the aftermarket grilles. Does anyone have a suggestion for some "factory looking" grilles for the rear? Thanks. There's no way to make the stereo look even remotely stock, it's a sleek modern JVC video unit, but the upper dash parts can look okay at least.

For a kinda-stock looking radio, I put a Blaupunkt Bahamas MP46 in my 300D. It doesn't look 100% stock, but due to the ability to change the color of the interface, it looks a lot nicer than some ricer-radios out there. No ugly VU meters bouncing around, either.
As for speakers, I can't say much on that subject yet. I'll be upgrading mine soon (the rear speakers are incredibly quiet.. I'm wondering if the PO hooked it up through the fader..), and I'll probably be going with MB Quart's in the rear, and Kenwoods / Pioneers in the front.
