Replacement Speaker Sizes and Grilles?
I replaced my worn-out, ineffective, terrible-sounding 1980s or maybe early 90s speakers with a set of Polk Audio ones. Trouble is they don't quite fit the factory mounting locations...
The fronts, they're slightly too high but fit in the spot okay. The speaker covers, thusly, stick up a little bit. That's not a big problem, but eh. I lost the original screws, though. Does anyone know what size screw should be there? I've got some huge silver screws sticking up like an inch that look really bad, I need to get the right size again.
Finally, the rears. The stock speakers were 5.25", and the best I could find were 5.5" so I cut the MDF in the back and they fit, and I'm using the aftermarket grilles. Does anyone have a suggestion for some "factory looking" grilles for the rear?
Thanks. There's no way to make the stereo look even remotely stock, it's a sleek modern JVC video unit, but the upper dash parts can look okay at least.
