While replacing the rear speakers in the 87 300SDL, I managed to crack the passenger side rear speaker grille into about 6 pieces. The driver's side came out without incident, but the passenger side was very brittle.

Anyway, I am now in need of a grille. The part number is 126 827 0224 KZ and is blue in color. I called the parts dept of my local dealer, but was told this part was no longer available. Also, tried PartsShop and 2 local boneyards. No luck.

If anyone here knows where I could find such a part, please let me know. Thanks much!

I'm new to this, but try car-part.com, national network of dismantlers. Also, a web search of "Mercedes dismantler" and "Mercedes recycler" should keep you busy for a week. Blue interior parts for 126's should be available.

If you have exhausted your boneyard sources locally, you can try the salvage yard I use. M&M in Fontana, CA - have made mention of them before. Nationwide Watts # 1-800-429-7278 (ask for Chad and tell him I referred you). I know for a fact they have no less than 3 W126's that are blue and I believe they have a blue interior. They will ship parts, but not glass.

you can also try www.silverstarrecycling.com who are a dismantler in northern california.

Though you could also paint or dye a different color one to match. shouldn't be too hard to accomplish with the right paint or dye.

They know MB parts. Even a obscure clamp in my engine compartment. I decribed it and they had it.
