Antenna not rising to the occassion
Radio antenna for my 1992 300E, 2.6, suddenly stopped rising. Would the motor just stop like that, or is there other possible cause I might trouble-shoot?
If it is the motor, your opinion on replacing with a stationary antenna. Thanks |

Open the trunk and listen while some else turns the ignition on and off. You can hear the motor if it's working. If it is you need a new mast. If not, you may have a bad motor or a blown fuse.

Sounds like you forgot to give the antenna its periodic dose of Viagra!:p! Only kidding to make a problem a little easier to handle!
![]() The Captain gave you good advice to check out the problem. I'll add that when you turn on the radio a circuit is activated that sends elec. to the antenna - if other checks do not solve the problem look at the radio's connection for the power antenna and the antenna circuitry inside the radio. Good Luck! Tom

One other thing. Make sure the antenna switch on the dash is in the proper position. Mine got turned off once cleaning the dash and I thought the motor went bad.
