Meguiars car care products can be purchased in most stores throughout the U.S. and Canada.
If you can't find it in any of the stores near where you live, you can always order online: www.meguiars.com

I have used the MB wax, as well as the Gold Class wax. The MB wax was little bit tougher to get off when your polishing it. Overall though, I think that the Gold Class gave the car a deeper shine than the MB stuff. However, this is my personal opinion and some of you may feel otherwise.

I'm a big fan of Gold Class wax, especially on dark colors.
My only complaint on Gold Class is that it doesn't last a long time, but then again, it wasn't formulated to have long-lasting protection, but rather to make paint look good. If you like Gold Class, I suspect you'll be even happier with NXT Tech wax. It is among Meguiar's best protective waxes, and as far as I could tell, it was impossible to tell the difference in test panels between Gold Class and NXT. Right now, I'm using Meguiars #26 Hi-Tech yellow wax:

There is one ingredient that Mercedes likes to use in all the products Meguiars makes for them, even in their leather protectant. I think it is jojoba oil, although I'm not 100% sure. As far as any wax being difficult to remove, it is usually due to the over application of product. You really want to apply a very thin coat of product, thinner than you're used to applying. Remember, you want to polish or wax your paint, not wax your wax. Also, the surface of the car should be cool. If not, the product can be difficult to remove.

When our C280 was new it came with the Mercedes-Benz paint care kit, which included the wash, cleaner, polish, and wax.. all manufactured by Meguiars and specially formulated for Mercedes-Benz paints (so they say). The products worked OK.... the polish was nice, but I found that the wax was rather lack-luster. It didnt leave the car with any more shine than the polish, which is fine if the wax is formulated just for protection. But I wanted more. SO I started using Meguiars products and found that their "over the counter" waxes performed better... adding more gloss and depth to the finish. And the same went for the polish...
Now I strictly use only Meguairs Gold Class paint cleaner, Color color-X, and NXT products and swear by them. Its all a matter of personal preference. The MB branded stuff never made me happy. If you are looking for deep shine, dramatic depth, etc.. go for the NXT line.

Nate, I need you to come up to my house and do a detailing presentation. You do an awesome job on your car, and I need to do the same for my cars.
What exactly do you use to detail your car? I am going to do a serious detail to the SL, and would like to know exactly what you buy...

Thanks justin,
The 300D Turbos paint requires more attention simply because the older MB paint formulations did not have a clear coat like the modern MB paint finishes. The paint will haze VERY lightly iff it is not polished regularly. The "haze" I speak of is not noticeable to the untrained eye- and can only be seen in under certain lighting situations. The C280's paint formulation has a clear coat, which reduces its maintenance intervals. It doesnt "haze", but its shine can dull down slightly from harsh weather as the wax wears away. Here are the steps I take to make my paint look its best. Paint Care: 1. Meguairs Gold Class Paint Cleaner- breaks down "hazing" aka oxidation that occurs from moisture- typically in the winter, or on neglected paint surfaces that have not been protected from the elements. 2. Meguiars Color-X- Formulated to further break down oxodizing, boost color pigment in paint, polish, and protect. 3. Meguiars NXT Next-Tech Wax- Adds a final coat of protection. Formulated to maximize pigment depth, paint reflection, and shine while minimizing and even eliminating the appearance of super fine scratches. I use the paint cleaner 4-5 times a year. Most of the time the paint only requires the Color-X & NXT wax. To maintain the finish results; wash car weekly. After every wash follow up with NXT quick detailer, and NXT Speed Wax. Always be sure to clean, polish, and wax door sills, trunk sills, hood sills, inner edges of fender lips, etc. Justin- Id be more than happy to help u out n have a detailing party. LOL. Just let me know!

I have noticed that a lot of the Meguiars stuff at the dealer look like they have been sitting there for years. I mean who goes to the dealer to buy wax? So maybe its the same formulation its just been sitting there for along time.

When you make products for specific functions, they do better at what they were designed to do, i.e. clean paint, polish paint, or protect paint. Howeve, just like Klasse All in One, nearly all of Meguiars retail consumer products combine functions. They all clean, polish, and protect in one product. Even Gold Class.
