|
What type of glue to use for this wood?
Finally found the missing piece to my interior wood addons!! It is almost in perfect condition I got so lucky with this one!
  Keep in mind this is AZ heat...so interior temperatures during the day will get hot, so I don't want the glue to peel off. Gotta be strong. So what glue will work for this? Thanks guys

Tried elmers wood glue...Did not work well at all. It kept 'cracking' and had lots of movement even when dry.
I ended up using liquid nails and it worked perfect.

Try gorilla glue,I replaced the wood on my glovebox door with it and it worked great.

ps2cho,
Is the back of the new piece wood or some other material? Is that vinyl or plastic that you're trying to glue onto? Generally, any of the 3M or equivalent Trim Adhesives, spray or paste, will work well. These are contact cement essentially, so coating/spraying both pieces is necessary. Bob

I lucked into a find on a single part industrial adhesive that works great!
It's called E6000, I bought mine at my local electronics supply store, but I think I also saw it in the craft area at Wal-Mart as well. My buddy brought his turbo brick (Turbo Volvo) over the other day complaining about a major lose of power. To make a long story short, I found that his rubber intake boot going into his throttle body had a huge split in it and therefore not building any boost. I took it off, degreased it washed several times with dish soap, died it off and applied a generous amount of E6000 to both sides let it dry for eight hours and he has been at full boost ever since.
