Locating paint code

I need to find the paint code on my 1980 300sd.

The metal plate near the radiator has many numbers in it and I do not know which one is for the paint color.

A google search did not give anything useful so I was hoping that someone here would know which number is for the paint.

Thanks

Do you have the original data card, which should be in the owner's manual pack? If so, the number should be indicated toward the upper right corner of the card.

The following image should help with your ID plate number identification conundrum:

Good luck!

Cheers,
Gerry

Three digits followed by a "G" or an "H".

Ok, my E300D is malachite 249 (metallic) a med green shade and the lower panels/ bumpers ('95) are a lighter color green. Where do you find the paint color for the lower panels on a two tone? Bought the car used and do not have the original sticker. Thanks
