Good mechanic in Washington DC?

I've new to the w123 world, having just bought an 85 300TD. Who knows of a good, reasonable mechanic in the DC area (closer to/in DC preferred)? Major problem for now is getting the vacuum system working properly again, as I've been told it will start sucking in oil and make a huge mess if I don't get it fixed soon.

Thanks,
Erik

Just dropped mine off

at RC Imports in Rockville. Have to go on a road trip this weekend. My vacuum system has a leak somewhere too. I have been replacing rubber connectors here and there, but haven't found the problem yet. I think my fuel shutoff is sucking oil, I dunno. Took like twenty seconds to shut off the other day, but today it shut off in about 1 or 2. Little rubber connections and hard vac lines are a little greasy with oil. These cars are weird. Car runs great otherwise.
I had my rear axles replaced and my brake system bled and they did a good job. Brakes work great, car goes smooth. Getting engine mounts replaced and other routine work I can't or don't have time to do myself. They seem to be pretty good with short turnaround. Another recommendation would be Mitch Carr's in Kensington. Haven't gone there yet, but if RC can't do anything with my tranny not getting vacuum I'll take it there. No way I'm messing with that stuff myself.
Both places metro accessible, RC is right across the street at Rockville station and Mitch Carr's will pick you up at Grosvenor.

I have been told Silver star motors is one of three recomended shops in the area. Do a search, there is an independent guy I heard about who is really good IF you can get him to work on it. Silver star is a hop skip and a jump from me but haven't been there yet. I have been able to handle everything I have needed so far.

I highly recommend Mitch Carr's in Kensington, MD. They have done wonderful things for very reasonable prices for me. They specialize in older Mercedes.

Just made an appointment at Mitch Carr's for Friday 10am. Lube, Oil, Filter.
I'll let you know how it goes. He seemed very polite and friendly over the phone.
