83 300d monovalve washer order
Diesel Gods,
I am in the process of replacing my monovalve with the rebuild kit. When I took out the old...i can see the plunger is ripped. The weird thing is when I pulled it out, the washer order was as follows: valve-big thick washer-wave washer-cylinder (wave washer touching the magnet in the cylinder) I have searched all 17 pages with the word "monovalve" and have not seen anything other than the excellent webpage on monovalve removal. I have a feeling some lame brain replaced this before I acquired the car, so here is my question: Is the monovalve washer order for a 83 300d ( valve-small washer-wave washer-thick washer-cylinder) ? or (valve-small washer-wave washer-small washer-thick washer-cylinder) ? I have read posts describing both 1 and 2 small washers but on different models. If I am in need of the "small washer"...is there a particular metal I need to use ? Thanks .

Can't believe nobody replied to this. I'm looking for the same info.... Took apart the old monovalve and the ripply washer was disintegrated. SO....
Speculation: Is it, from bottom up, smaller washer, ripply washer, big washer, or is it the reverse? Ben |
