Guess you don't know me.

Nope, however I hosted a few for awhile on my site for reference. They're back up on the Finnish forum.

I am not the one with the Super-Turbo access.

I guess I am still considered to be amongst the silent minority of the diesel forum. Nobody recognizes me anymore.

DslBnz is my name....Jzaroh, jz006, jz005, M119, etc. I am still the same guy: Me! My videos are pale by comparison.

I have no connection with the Finnish. VeeDub was the first one to recognize what these guys had achieved(through the TDI forums) and shared the info with me earlier this year. I spread the news to Benzworld and he posted it here.

Actually, I think it would be a howl to build up one of those +400hp Finnish diesel beasts to go troll for Corvettes and other poseurs. Just think, you could smoke their a**es on waste fry oil too.

I really, Really REALLY like the way you think ! ! !

I think it would be a cool swap.....

Remember SEC stands for Super Energy Concept. Hell even the door handles have aerofoils on them. It was also the first Mercedes with a rearward sloping grille. The drag co was pretty good for its day too.

Id be all for a diesel SEC. 300SEC turbo baby!

Where did you read that? I always thought that SEC fit into the rest of the Benzo numerology like this:

Super Einspritzen Coupe

I read it in a hard cover Mercedes history book. I think it was part of a series of "Great Marques" or something from the early 80s. The W/C126 was the newest car in the book.

My copy of the book is 500 miles from me right now.

If one of these engines can get a 7000lb+ crew-cab 4x4 pickup to break 11 seconds in the quarter mile, imagine what it could do with a 126 coupe I'm guessing that it'd be like putting a big block on a go-kart
Yeah I can hear it now... TACKA TACKA TACKA TACKA TACKA WWWWWIIIIIIZZZZZ TACKA TACKA TACKA TACKA.... Uh, honey was that a Mercedes? I think he just spit some tobacco on me; and are those real testicles hanging off the trailer hitch?!!?
Might as well put a rolex faceplate on a timex.

I believe the appropriate MB badging would be a "300SDC". The "E" is only for the gas fool injection.

Ahhhhh, something I have been seriously thinking about for awhile, although all I have is a long 126 chassis at the moment...

I do however have some pictures from a W108 69 or 70(?) 280SEL with a 617 in it.... anyone?

I think a turbo charged M117 with a 5spd backing it up would be cool in a 560SEC!

A 400hp 603 is the only diesel I would want in an SEC.

The SEC is a great GT car a gutsy V8 fits it well.

Ancient thread, but how about an m110 or m103 into and SEC to get the manual transmission. My manual sedans are fun to drive, but it just seems wrong. I’ve got a low value 1982 euro 500sec and three manual w126 sedans. My wheels are turning.

Thumbs up

I'm no fan if the W126's but a nice OM603 in a coupe would be nice I think, the linear torque of any inline 6 cylinder engine is a wonderful thing indeed .

Why not ? those R107 Diesels seem to get right along and are popular .

There was a frankenbenz 560SEC with a 300 turbo diesel
conversion on YT for a while.

Closest I've ever seen.

The look of the 560 makes it ripe for a conversion
but with original values climbing the way they are
unless the engine is completely toast
it's probably better to stay with the original.

I bet they were built for europe with a diesel. The diesel and the 280e were both about the same outer dimensions..
