ok,finally getting down with this B2 piston...need some quick help
well, after weeks of waiting on parts and needing a full day off work, im finally knee deep in transmission fluid...my whole shirt is soaked
![]() now, i have a part thats supposed to go in, but i didnt see one come out when i pulled the piston....its a white plastic bushing....bigger outside radius on one side than the other....i need to know where this goes, and which direction the bigger side should be on.... this is my guess...the black bushing goes in first, then this white peice goes onto the "shaft" of the B2 piston with the bigger side facing the inside of the tranny...then the red O-ring, then the piston itself....i dont have a clue though, just a semi-educated guess....somebody please help!

also, i looked at the richard easley B2 piston tutorial....step #10 says, "If your transmission has a metal sleeve for the B2 piston to slide in, replace it with the improved, plastic version that reduces the potential for binding."
is this white plastic peice what he is talking about? i didnt see any metal sleeve for the piston to slide into though, so i dont know how i can take it out and replace it with a plastic version

ran into another issue just now....i got everything back into the transmission, but theres no force pushing the piston back out towards me....the cover just popped on and is in the same position it was when i pushed it in to remove it...i can see the O-ring and its about a quarter inch in from the C-clip that holds it...is it supposed to be like this? will it pop back out after i refill the tranny?
AAAARRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! i dont look forward to ever doing this again....things this tedious drive me crazy as hell ![]()

bump...i posted this over in Tech Help too, but havent figured the problem out...ive tried tapping on the cover to get it to pop back out, and it does nothing....steve brotherton asked if i put a spring back in....what spring is he talking about? i didnt see anything come out that wasnt part of the original B2 piston
