I have never seen 20W Delo. I have only seen 30W and 15W40. I would think that 15W40 would be much better suited for Winter than 20W. It also works year round.
Good luck, |

Why would you be using straight weight oil? I use Delo 400 15W-40 from Walmart, about $6.50 a gallon.

Why would you use a 20W oil in a 20 year old engine? I know a few new cars (2003+) that call for 5w-20 and 0w-20 but no MB let alone a diesel MB should ever have that stuff in its crank case.
My engine cranks over plenty fast at 0 degrees with Mobil 1 15w-50 in the sump.

Remember the good ole days of puncturing your metal oil can and putting in a filler spout to add oil? Straight weight rulz!... The reason I brought up the subject is that I ran into a guy that had 2 cases for his VW Vanagon diesel and hw woould not tell me where he got it... He called it Liquid Gold!... I'll go 15-40 w.. I was just curious. |

Hi!
Use a good Oil. Don't look back to history, time pass. Better Oil can last longer in the engine and have lower friction, more power. Your engine last longer and burn les - you save surrounding life too and money. At the present time we have wonderful Oil Mobil1 0w40 - so powerful for cold and very hot weathers.Easy can last for 10 000 mil. I try picturaize for you this Oil is much more stronger and out perform many times 20W50 Raising Oil. Recommended by MB too. Regards. |
