w123 window regulator removal/replacement procedure

i'm pretty sure i need a new regulator for my driver side window. my dad and i pulled one out of an '83 at the junkyard, but frankly we aren't too sure how we did it. it certainly didn't come out easily. what is the proper way to remove the old one and install the new one?
