Parting a 240D 4-speed

I'm bringing home a '79 240d tonight with hopes of getting it running and keeping the engine as a spare for my Land Rover. Besides the engine and a few ancillaries, I have no use for the rest of the car. It's got 125k on it and the body is as you'd expect being in New England. It does have a 4-speed and though I want to keep the flywheel, the tranny, pedal assm., etc. is here if anyone's doing a 4-speed swap in a 300.

I'll try to post some pictures tonight...I'm going to tow it to the shop here after work and hope to drive it home! If you're interested, drop me an email.

Jim

It's dark red, but the hubcaps are still there if you need them.

Jim, that is some really cool work, good for you! A friend of mine is rebuilding a 65 series 2. I tried to convince him he wanted a MB diesel in it, but he went for a low-miles original motor instead. Anyway, very nice documentation too.
