Just got back from a 880 Km trip, and averaged 16.6 km / liter with limted use of AC in the afternoon and driving at 110-125 kmh.

Is there a way to increase the brightness of the dash Gauges?

That's really good mileage. I definitely don't get that good. I wonder why...

I'll have to get working on that little problem! One of the knobs on the instrument cluster should adjust the brightness if you rotate the knob. Or maybe you have a light burnt out?

Wow. That's 39.04 mpg (US); 46.89 mpg (Imperial). Fantastic mileage for a 2.5T.

My dash lights are maxed and not the brightest. Perhaps brighter bulbs or LEDs would burn brighter.

Are the knobs located on the instrument cluster itself? There is the trip reset and the clock set. There are on other knobs on the cluster.

Data FYI - I used Sunoco Gold and got slightly less Km/L, but the engine noise is less with the gold. The last time i filled up on my 880 Km trip, I used Petro Canada. I filled up SUnoco Gold again to see if I can get the same kind of economy with it.

The one on the right side is the trip reset, the one on the left side is the clock set if you push it in and turn it. If you turn the left one without pushing it in, it should change the brightness.

I'm surprised about the Sunoco Gold, but maybe it wasn't as good a mileage run and had more city driving.. I do find it has a bit more power, and I haven't noticed the engine is quieter, but it definitely doesn't stink on startup. It's also supposed to have better lubricity properties.

Thanks Data. I turned the knob, and I have bright dash lights now.

Fuel economy at last fill up 16.15 km per liter with 80% highway and 20% city driving with lot of stop and go traffic, or 38 mpg for our US friends.

Great to see you continuously getting such good mileage.

I definitely don't ever see that good mileage though. Trip to Kingston and back has yielded about 15 km/L with hardly any city driving. I wonder what I should check to figure out why .. .. Before I left I put the tires at 33 psi, like yours are.

I got 68.5 MPG, but it might be wrong.

I filled my tank full with Shell diesel at a city. 247597.

Then I drove a little in the city, and drove to a neaby city. I drove at 60~80 MPH on the highway. Then I filled my tank full with Mobil diesel. 247654. 0.832 gallons was put.

So, (247654 miles - 247597 miles ) / 0.832 gallons = 68.5 MPG.

I usually get 24 ~ 32 MPG,
