Valve Spring Removal
How do I remove the valve springs from my 92 300d without spending $1000 on mercedes tools? Please help. The valve springs are resest into the head and I can not get a clamp type spring compressor around them.

Try a clamp type valve spring compressor with an oxygen sensor socket. The slot in the oxygen sensor socket might be enough access to the retainers. If the oxygen sensor socket doesn't do it, fabricate something along those lines out of a length of pipe.
Or get something like this - http://www.international-auto.com/index.cfm/fa/p/pid/2715/sc/8140 Sixto 95 S420 87 300SDL |
