Battery and Intake Question????????

Need to know what the cranking amps need to be for a 87 300td wagon.

My current battery is registering 12.36 and am not sure this is sufficient.

Second question is will the car start without the intake installed???? I know it is a stupid question but am curious because I have never heard car start just got done doing head job and prior it did not run. Thanks
