Mine is still connected. It will stay connected until I get my recall work done.
Then I may find a BB and start training my Mercedes for the Dakar rally.

I have an 92 300cd and its working. I will let the future owner "test" its offroad capabilities if they want to. It works and runs like a top.

You skydive and sail?

If so...awesome! My boss has over 900 logged skydives (lots of acrobatics) and I am helping him finish up his 12 year long sail boat project.

...ie...

Sure, I'm driving around with a working EGR... It's just that it's in the trunk.

When the car turns 25 and it no longer needs to pass any sort of inspection anywhere, is it still illegal to have disconnected an emissions device?

Federal law prohibits removing, bypassing, or interfering with the operation of any emissions equipment on a car regardless of age. Now... what are the odds you would get caught? Not very high.

i think my egr was stuck open .. since their was a nice black streak on the intake manifold... now its all cleaned up and i use it as a paper weight.. so it still works.. just as a heavy piece of metal

Never hear of it

I had never heard od EGR until I came to the USA in 2001, However I had heard (dreamed) of a car called a 300SD it took a few months and the bosses boss sold me which had a working EGR, once i found out what it was all about and knowing that a Diesel engine loves clean fresh air threaded the exhaust manifold to take a 3/4 pipe plug and made a carbon fiber plate for the inlet manifold, well it is for racing

Photo of plate to follow.

I've got a EGR off road kit, a 240D valve case oil sep unit, a EGT probe, and two Blackstone intercoolers, a dozen links to 617 mods and a very well stocked stand alone tool box. Until I buy another wagon the wife won't let me play with HER car.
I got all the tools and she won't let me open her hood.
So these are the reasons to not sell the m117's...

12 year long sail boat project.

Do wifes allow such things?

It took me, with a lot of help, two years, to make my 1977 Bermuda 40 shipshape. Oh yes, there was money involved - for that hole in the water and I am still married to my first wife for 35 years.

I got to learn to skydive and scuba for free in the Army and went on to become an Instructor in both to keep the cost down.
