I really enjoy driving the W123, as weird as that might sound; I am not totally sure if I want to sell as yet, because I have so much money in it. I have an AMG body kit just sitting in the garage, and a couple other upgrades that I have already paid for that will be installed in March. If I do sell it I will probably get a Diesel Gwagen. Yes thats a 1973 E-Type.

Ok this thread is so highjacked. I did't know you had a Searay Brian? They are pretty decent cruisers. My friend has a 23, it was a nice boat. Traded for a 28 last year. The 28 has a pair of 350's and moves along rather nicely.

I remember having a conversation with one of the guys at the marina last year. He did the one thing you are never supposed to do if you have a boat, calculate how much each trip costs you... $6,500 x only three or him. He sold the boat.

That E300D is very sharp btw, I'd advertise it or $19999 and see if you get any bites.

........worst hijacking I've seen all month........where's the Moderator?

Yep, 27' Weekender that has been in the side yard for three years. It's a '79 and, like all old boats, and old cars, it needs constant attention. Time that I just don't have.

Exactly. How many times can you use it? Unless it's your passion and you take it out at least 20 times per year........it's ridiculous. Just look at all the boats that sit in the marina on a July weekend........amazing.

Yeah where is the mod?

Sounds like a typical old boat. Old MB's have nothing on boats as far as time and money they can suck up.

I'd use a boat a lot of I kept one in the water. In a couple of years I want to find a nice 20ft Mako CC. Most people don't use their boats much, most get like 20-50 hours put on them a year. I am part of the other extreme, I don't even own a boat and I still go out at least once sometimes 2-3 times a day 5-7 days a week.

If I had a boat in the water I would probably use it at least 4-5 days a week.

I have written my Sundays off completly, I sail Star's every Sunday.

Hijacking continued

OK, some quick MB content.. Man I would love that diesel... tell me $15K and I'll buy it!

Back to boats.. 8) I have found the bigger the boat the less it is used - at least here on the lake. I have a 20' inboard ski boat we use all the time for play and transportation. We also have a 24' pontoon that get's its share of use as well. A friend has a 28' cruiser and a jet ski. He uses the jet ski 95% of the time. This winter he sold the cruiser and bought another jet ski.

Hatteras, you were exactly right. With them sitting in the water they are easy to just turn the key and go. No trailer, launch, haul it back home issues.
I have found the more you use them the less work they need. Of course maintenance is needed.

Chuck
