Could be that I have a 126 SD also and I have removed my emission stuff, so it should at least give you an idea.

Well I have been looking over the situation and I'm not making too much progress. I did find a nipple broken off on the metering valve on the main vac line. That's easy with a new part. The rest of it isn't so easy. As best I can tell, several connections were not right even prior to my knocking things apart. At least that is my assessment going by the diagram found afixed to the car. Maybe the strangest situation is a black poly tube about 1 foot long and about 5mm diameter going thru the firewall. I noticed it pulled out with little or no resistance. I also pulled another small black tube out the same way. I pulled the panel off under the drivers side to see if I could find where they came from but couldn't find the place of connection...soooo I'm still quite puzzled. I hate to say it but I may have to break down and find a mechanic who has the ability to put it back in shape and have it done.

There is a black line that is supposed to be open under the dash. It doesn't connect to anything, it's a vent line.

I assume you've already looked at these vacuum diagrams?

Yup, came to a big filter. That's gone on mine too, I wish I had better pics for the problem. You should see under my SDL, it's very limited with the vac lines.

If I get this right then the black poly no longer attaches to anything so I don't need to worry about that?? The smaller black tube also goes thru the firewall without connection in the area under the dash. The other end connects to the vacuum control valve if I see this correctly. Does that make sense?

Yes, the large black one with the filter you just remove and follow it over to the other emission crap. You'll pull off a BUNCH of tubing.
