97 E300D Engine Electronics Warning & Intake Resonance Flaps
Hi everyone! Can someone offer any advice on this issue? My 97 E300D gives the 'engine electronics warning' with check engine light on. A friend with a code reader found it codes for the intake resonance flaps. There are two of these and they cost over $200 each at the MB dealer (the only place I can find them). We've reset the codes but it comes back in a day or so. So....
Is there a way to clean these or something? I figure it's worth a try before spending the money. Does anyone sell them aftermarket? Any advice appreciated!! Thanks! |

They may just be sticking. Are you getting surging along with Check Electronics Message. I took the intake manifold off and cleaned the intake thoroughly. Do a search for surging you should get alot of hits.
Where are you located??

No, it doesn't really surge but I do notice some minor performance loss or change occasionally. I think they're sticking.
How would you suggest cleaning them? Gumout or something similar? Located in New Jersey. |
