Brake pad wear sensor problem

My brake pad warning light had been flickering lately so today I pulled off the wheels to have a look. The pads look good, but there seems to be an issue with the wear sensors on the passenger side. (See picture below) I clipped off the bit of the old wear sensor that was still attached to stop the light from blinking for now Do new wear sensors cone with wires attached that will replace this damaged section? Should I just hold off on fixing this until I nee new pads? Thanks for the help.

P.S. I also found that my car has cross drilled rotors installed in the rear.

When I put all 4 rebuilt ATE calipers on mine. They all came with new pads, spring clips, pins, and the sensors in them. Pretty good deal for $55 each.

Thanks, that is what I thought, but I was not positive.

If the pads are in good shape, I would just change out the sensor. At $2.85 for each side http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/mercedesshop/sophio/wizard.jsp?partner=mercedesshop&clientid=catalog.mercedesshop&baseurl=http://catalog.peachparts.com/&cookieid=1WG0P2UAL1WW02P7CX&year=1979&make=MB&model=240-D-002&category=N&part=Brake+Pad+Sensor I don't see where you could go wrong.

Most of the stopping power comes from the front brakes. Were the front rotors cross-drilled also?

I think you are right. The R and R of the pads doesn’t looks fairly easy.

Only the rears are drilled. I doubt it improves braking at all, but it looks cool! I'm not even sure where you can get cross drilled rotors for these cars...hopefully they are not homemade.
