High Idle, but only after sitting several days
I've noticed that, in the early going, my idle is high....but ONLY after the car has sat undriven for several days. If I've driven it the day before, everything is fine.
I had the throttle linkage lubricated, but that doesn't seem to have helped. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Hard to quantify...moderately high? It's not like the engine is racing or anything. But high enough to be obviously noticeable.

Does your tachometer not work(I'm guessing your 1992 300D 2.5 Turbo, BTW)? If it's under 900rpm in P or N, I would not worry too much. Just let it warm up for a few minutes to get everything circulating.
I believe the idle is computer controlled on the 92. |
