Depends on what you want to do.

Just eliminate the function of the EGR?

Eliminate the valve itself for a better look underhood?

Eliminate the plumbing to and from the EGR and the black box on the valve cover?

Any, or all, can be done, depending on your desires.

It's pretty easy.

If you want to simply disable it's operation, place a BB or other otherwise block the vacuum line that is attached to the EGR valve.

If you want to completely remove it, you just make or buy some blocking plates. From there, you can remove the black box on the valve cover and remove the two vacuum lines going to it.

A kit can be bought here: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=92534

A BB is a small round ball used in a BB gun (a low powered, good for nothing gun- except maybe shooting small animals without hurting them). The BB itself is not important to block the EGR. It is just the perfect size to fit snugly where it needs to go.

These. They can be metal or plastic.

So pretty much is to block the exhaust line that is going to the EGR,and when you remove the EGR to block the hole whit the plate, right?

Since nobody has mentioned it, "BB" stands for "ball bearing." That's what their purpose in life is -- being a projectile is secondary. You use the BB to block the vacuum line -- a BB that could fit the actual exhaust passage would be much bigger than a BB used with toy guns.

Lance directed you to one of my kits which allows you to completely remove the valve.

But, your request is to simply stop the function of the valve, without removing it.

So, as mentioned above, all you need to do is to pull the vacuum hose off the EGR valve and plug the hose. You can plug it with a BB or a golf tee or a close fitting bolt. Doesn't matter.........provided you don't leave an open vacuum line.

I do recommend the kit Brian sells. It was the first thing I really bought for my om617. NowI just need to remove the intake and clean it out.

Hijack on!

Perhaps nobody mentioned it, because that is not correct

In the gun world, BB means either a spherical shot between the size of B and BBB (as in this case), or it means bulleted breach (in the case of BB caps).

Hijack off!
