Best of
Make sure you hit the best of flag after reading the ad. If enough people flag it, it will make best of and many others will get to read it.
And I thought Joe's oil thread was funny. Chris

4. You could commit suicide by slowly backing up on a windless day.
I think I peed my pants. This ad is an instant classic by that standard. |

Just for kicks . . . about three years back there was this girl in her '78 Mercedes 240D. California blue plate car with factory original paint. High miles but clean and straight and really nice save for some rips in the driver's seat cover. Even had the original Becker Europa Stereo radio!
At the time I drove my 300CD as a daily driver and mentioned to her that if she ever wanted to sell that car, to give me a call. Two years passed and the call came. She bought a new car and wanted to sell me hers for $600. I negotiated down to $500 and drove to her house to pick it up. Car was sitting for a couple of months and wouldn't start, not even with jumper cables. With puppy eyes she asked me if I had no interest in buying it at all. Not running, you mean? How 'bout $100, she asked? I said okay. Towed it home, changed the battery and the starter. Replaced the driver's side seat cover and both horse hair pads. Had it detailed. Have about $700 in the car and it looks super nice and runs every bit as good. A couple of years from now, when my daughter has too much money to burn on a 'better' car, I'll probably sell it for thee times that amount. Value. Real value.

At least it still has a hood star....so many trashed MB's I've seen on craigslist don't have one. Anyways, I nearly died laughing from that ad, wow. Truly Impressive, and it has been saved into our RAID equipped file server, to last an eternity.
