Is it possible to break a lift pump by too much pressure on fuel lines?

How do you mean? Did you add an electric pump to it?

Lift pump/IP problems
I should add:
The kit I used includes a hand primer bulb (like ones found on an out-board motor). When I re-primed the system, after replacing the main fuel line running under car, I forgot to disconnect the fuel line going to the LP and IP . When pressurizing the system , could I have done damage? Could I have caused a problem with the lift pump or IP. |

Not reasonably.

It's doubtful with the hand pump. What symptoms are you seeing? Did you loosen the main spin on filter bolt and prime it? You may still have air in the system.

Lift pump
I dissconnected EVERYTHING and I am running off of a bottle (just like Diesel Purge) and it is still happening. My symptoms: it starts right up, runs about 10 seconds and then shuts off like it's starved for fuel.

Did you loosen the main spin on filter bolt and prime it until no more air came out?

Probably not because I'm not sure I understand what you are referring to. Please explain!!

Where the spin on filter is located, there is a large (17mm IIRC) center bolt.
First loosen that bolt a little, but do not remove it. You may need to hold the filter with one hand while you loosen the bolt. Once you loosen the bolt, use the primer pump on the lift pump to prime the system. Prime until you see fuel pooling up. Tighten the filter bolt, and try to start the engine. Be careful with the bulb type, as the one way valve on those are iffy at best.
