85 300DT, or D/T or D/Turbo.. whatever you want to call it
![]() Anyway... speaking of vacuum.. if I lock and unlock my car more than 3(ish) times without starting it, the other doors stop locking... do I have a vacuum leak or is this all I should expect?

I have one of those in my wagon too, I use it to store loose eggs that I get when I go to the farm.
Seriously though, part of the vacuum system. Lots of cars have 'em, my Vanagon sure did.

The question is can you lock them at night and unlock them in the morning, or even the day after. If you can you do not have a significant vacuum leak. When you have a real vacuum leak the locks won't work at all after a few minutes even without opening or closing them.

My 85 300d does that too. 3 is Max. It got really bad one day (only driver and reardriverside locked and I only got 1 try) and I realized and found a vac cable was disconnected. My trans is slippery and I belive it is due to the vac. The Doorlocks clued me into that. Engine also lagged on shutdown that day... Anyhow wonderful question.... How many times should I be able to lock/unlock if my vacuum system is happy? I look silly jumping back in the car to start it so i can lock the doors. My neighbors think Im wierd. "The 123 when new was advertised as being able to lock/unlock the doors 5 times after shutting off the engine" Oh, cool
