Resleeve costs?
What's everyone paying to have new sleeves installed into their 616/617s?
The parts are only around $20.

that is a little like asking how much folks are paying for the thread in their daughter's custom made wedding dress?
to disassemble the motor? just push out the old sleeves and push in new ones? maybe $200...but they need then to be decked back flush with the block, and bored to fit the pistons, the whole schmeal reassembled and unless you know it has been done recently you should think about going thru the head. so from 200 to 2000 i suppose. how much you planning to do yourself? tom w

I plan to tear the motor down and have the machine shop do the prep work on the block. New liners and hone to match pistons. Zero deck the block. Resize rods and balance. Line hone mains, etc, etc. Rotating assy balanced.
I plan to put the rest of the bottom end together myself. Head will be shipped out too.

I think I'm going to grab yours and get the car at least running, then rebuild the dead motor.

This might be a stupid question, but if you put in new rings, why do you need to bore the new sleeves? Shouldn't everything fit perfectly?

You'll need to document, photo and report on this epic journey. Few have gone so far with the 6XX engines.

Report back on the success or failure of your venture; I plan to undergo the 'epic' journey myself with one of my 617s, someday....
