I don't know what value this is, but with all the talk about temps and starting without glowing, I though this observation was mildly amusing...
When I went to start my car to go home the other day, I noticed that the temp gauge was already above the 40C mark (maybe up around 45-50C?) whereas normally it indicates below 40C. It wasn't particularly hot that day, but the car had sat all day pointed into the sun over asphalt.
Since yesterday was predicted to be the hotest day of our summer, I came prepared.. I took my camera to work and took a picture of the temp gauge before starting the car. This time my car was parked in full shade. The ambient temp was 102F, so the gauge didn't indicate as hot as last time. Incidently, 102F = 38C, so I now know my temp gauge is accurate at the low end
Just thought this was a mildly amusing observation.
