300sdl Seats & Windows suddenly not working

Hi there,

My brothers sdl lost seat motor adjustment & window control at the same time. Checked and brush fuse connections, no help.

Any thoughts? Is there a relay somewhere that controls both?

Thanks,
Will

This is a more complicated problem, or the data is flawed. The two systems have completely different relays but are fed via a common point.

Please do/check the following:

1) Replace fuse 17.

2) Pull the power window relay and check for voltage at sockets 3 and and also at socket 4 with the keyswitch in the run position. The relay is in the fuse box. As you face the box, with the fuses on the left and the relays on the right, the power window relay is in the first row (closest to you........a group of four "ice cube relays in a row). It's the second relay from the left.

3) Pull the power seat relay and check for voltage at socket 3. Also in the fuse box. It's directly behind the power window relay in the second row as you face the box from the side of the vehicle. There are three relays in this row. It's the first relay from the left.

Did those items both fail at the exact same time............or was the original data flawed?

Both failed on the same trip (1 hour driving) but I am unsure whether it was at the same time.

Is there any way to know what are all the relays for? It will be nice to know the job of every one of them.

check this

I don't know ANYTHING about electric but you might want to get the COPPER fuses. I heard the older metal fuses, though they might LOOK good, get pitted etc., and can cause electric problems.
