Driveshaft Spline Question
Can the DS be separated in-place (without unbolting the flex disks) by loosening the 46mm spline bolt. I am asking because I'm wondering if the alignment between the 2 pieces can be adjusted in this manner?
I know that they can be spread apart once bolt is loosened but will they go far enough apart? Thanks

No. I doubt it . Perhaps if you dropped the center mount, but then you would be bending the flex disks an enormous amount.

No - not enough clearance.
If there were clearance, people would have their driveshafts drop out of the car if the spline nut came loose. So, a flex disk has to come off to get the driveshaft separated - provided nothing else is taken off like the engine/transmission or the differential. Ken300D
