My wife has an 05 CDI. AWESOME car!!! The inline 6 has been sold in Europe for years and should have all the "bugs" out of it. I can't imagine any advantage that the V-6 would have. We routinely get 32 mpg and on long trips get 35. The acceleration is incredible. What I don't understand is why anyone would buy a 320 gasser.
Also, you can get a much better price on an 05.

This isn't true, the bluetec E320 does not use the urea injection system (not yet anyway). I've confirmed this with my dealer as I was looking at an '07 and wanted to know what extra maintenance was involved with the bluetec engine...none over the I6 is the short answer.

Considering what they are asking for 2005 CDI's I'd just buy a new one. Why pay $35k-$40k for an almost 3 maybe 4 year old car, with lots of miles on it when you can get a brand new one for $10k-$15k more?
You can get E320's of similer vintage for a lot less, the diesel reall adds to the price. IMHO its not worth paying a large premium for the diesel.

As well as choking the engine's exhaust, additional fuel consumption and a substantial addition to the "diesel premium".
