Today I noticed on the way to work my idle was erratic, sometimes stayed high sometimes so low it was rattling about. Got to work, left it running and popped the hood to investigate. Turns out the rubber in my firewall mount for the throttle rod has decayed so the nylon donut fell out of it. While messing around with it I revved up the engine off idle a bit, & the car creeped forward just slightly so as to put pressure on my shoe.

It only moves a little bit, but I just thought that was an odd thing to happen in park, knowing the manual valve is supposed to dump the fluid out back to the pan in park. I also never noticed it do that before in all the time I've played under the hood. My shifter linkage bushings are still good.
