Rotate the Fleet

I average about 130 miles each day using my 300SD and 190D turbo most of the time. The 350SDL rests at the back of the garage to be used for those special events. The 300D is added to the mix as something must rotate out for maintenance.

Many of you run the pants off of your W-123s but for me the busy engine noise on the hi-wy wears after awhile. And then this 190D is just so much fun to "punch" on an on ramp. 32mpg on the hi-wy is not too bad either.

Elegant Madame (from New Orleans):

I drive an average of about 35 miles per day. Several weekends ago, I drove it about 300 miles one day on the Interstate and the cruise control worked great. This is the family car.

The odometer turned 088,888 tonight.

My SDL is my daily driver during the summer.(roughly 6 months out of the year, its going to bed in a couple of weeks.) I put a TON of miles on it this year, like 8k. Next year I'm going to trade the winter beater for something better, I'd like to keep the useage on the SDL to about 5k miles per year. I'm in no rush to wear out all the stuff I just replaced!

Once I get the body cleaned up, and a nice Navi/DVD/Ipod/sound system installed...I'd like to keep it in the garage for a weekend car. Now I use it for work, which sucks, because work follows me. I need a work car.

I'm finding it hard to desire anything else but, they are getting pretty worn nowdays.
I use my 123 euro NA. my neighbour uses my 126 300SD (she's hot), I also use my 116 300SD when I fix my 123

Me too!

Count me in -- although strictly speaking, it's not a "daily driver" because I don't leave the property every day (one of the nice things about being retired). (The 603-powered '87 is my wife's.)

Before I went to Iraq last year the 240D was my daily driver, 50 miles a day. I just recently got back and it's back on the job. It managed a nearly 500 mile road trip from Reno to LA this week. Darn slow in the mountains, but it did it. The 300 is at my dad's house waiting for me to pick it up and put it over 300,000 miles.

The 84 everyday (30 to 50 miles) unless I'm going fishing then its AWD suv since I get in to 2-tracks that I don't want to risk my D's on. Fishing is only in the spring and fall though.

My son drives the 85 and the TD is just garaged right now.

Planning to have 2 of the D's painted this winter.

Millie was my DD, until I racked up 15k miles in the first 9 months I owned her.

Decided to buy something else to take the abuse so Millie would still be nice when I retire.

She is entirely suitable for DD use, just too nice for the daily grind, IMO.

Does a euro 1985 W124 count? 603.912 non-turbo but she purrs at 65mph for my 40mi round trip to work every day. I couldn't have kept her without the help of this great board.
