To update my October Post....

'82 300SD (my car) - 267,870 Bought it with 207,128 in July 2003. So I have had it for 4.5 years and over 60k! I'll drive it forever! Have only replaced about 458 parts in that time period. Ok...maybe a tad less than that

'83 300SD (my dads car) - 293,480ish Bought in August 2004 with 248k on it. Probably around 120 things have been replaced. And a LOT of rust has been repaired.

'83 300D (my dads other car) - 225,493 as of today. Bought it with 221,200 on it.... We've only repaired or replaced probably 10 parts, and we've had it a whole year already. By far the least expensive of the three so far. Also cost about 1/3 as much to buy it as the other two. Then again its driven about 1/3 as much....

don't believe Madame's odometer.....

Odometer has 91K+ miles on it......it works great..... But Carfax and front seats say something different. Of course, it is a Southern Louisiana car....lot of heat, but wouldn't that crack the dash, too? Maybe the dash has been replaced and the seats have not --- got to work on that THIS year.

Disregarding my vergassers.....

I have 241K on my 83 300D and it burns no oil, nor leaks any....

In the past I had over 400K on one of my 69 220Ds before structural rust finally did it in. Engine and 4 speed manual still performed well.

Our 87 300TD had 240K when our neighbor bought it, now has close to 270K, still has the original transmission.

my 83 300D turbo has 270k+ miles and odometer stopped working. The previous owner estimated about 350k miles. It leaks power steering fluid, engine oil, has a ton of blowby, and the transmission is shot. Dont worry, she is in the shop receiving intensive care, im not letting her die on me

That's impressive!

85 300d has 272k (this question reminded me to update my sig. thanks!)

New head at 260k, runs real well, smokes a little, and starts down to 12F and counting (I wish we'd have more really cold days to test her).

Hoping to redo the bottom end of motor at 500k or better.

I forget, look at my sig thats close. I put 9k miles on it last year which was a lot, this year I'll probably do that again. Once I get out of school I'll get another car, I'd like to keep the use on the SDL down to 5k a year.

Been searching around here for info to help out my dad with his 300SDL. Stumbled onto this thread and thought I should add my parents cars to the mileage database.

84 300SD 350,660 miles, recently rebuilt only because it leaked oil out of every crevice, couldn't park it without leaving a big black stain, ran great though.

86 300SDL 230,000 miles, valve job as I'm writing this because #1 prechamber started leaking oil into cylinder, smoked like an old steamtrain when that happened, what a mess too.

As for myself, I'm an Audi guy....
hey, at least it's from the right country, and mine really was built in Ingolstadt, Germany. Unfortunately the TDI version of my allroad isn't available here, or I'd have an oil-burner myself. Btw, this place has been very helpful. Glad to find another forum as good as Audiworld.
