I don't know if you're already aware of this but Virginia links plates to insurance policy #s so plates are non-transferrable. The only way the owner can cancel his insurance is by letting the registration expire or turning in his plates to DMV. Otherwise he WILL be SR-22'd.

That sounds like NY. I am going to register the car in West Virgina anyway, so I would need to have him take his plates off the car. I guess that means towing the beast, which is what AAA if for

What's 'long distance'?
More than say three four miles. The fuel is really pouring out of the hoses. It drips down the engine block!
