First time I've seen it: Diesel over $4 - a lot over!!!

This is insane! Diesel goes for $1.10 more than RUG... (No Diesel for less than $3.95 around here.)

*shrug* whadda ya gonna do?

I don't care what people say about supply and demand, the oil companies have us by the balls and can do WHATEVER they want. If they one day went from $1.50 a gallon to $5.00 a gallon people would have freaked out so bad an alternative fuel would have been a top priority. The whole frog in a pot of water theory.

$4.09 is the cheapest in my area of Orange County - SoCal. Price seems to increase each week, but as OlBrenner says "whadda ya gonna do?".....

Just yesterday Diesel went up to $4.13 from $3.99. it was $3.89 last week. another station I get fuel at was still $3.79.

Back about 1958 I was in the Sea Scouts, the unit I was in had an old Army Fire and Tug boat. It had 2 brand new Jimmy Diesels in. the boat held 1000 gallons of Diesel. we worked our butts off all year to maintain that darn thing.
Ea year we would go up to the Navy ship yard at Hunters Point and get fuel from the Navy for 0.9¢ a gallon. the old Chiefs like us, new recruits later on for the Navy, they would throw on a few barrels of fuel. I guess they would check it off as bad fuel.
Gas back then was maybe .30¢ and Diesel was maybe .15¢.

One day you can talk to your grand kids about the good old days when gas was only $3.00 a gallon .

I've witnessed $4/gal diesel before. Back when Katrina hit, they started price gouging, and this one truck stop in town was at $4.00/gal when everyone else was like $2.30-2.50/gal. They lowered their price back down after people saw through their gouging and kept passing them up.

I just noticed that when I was out today. A huge jump in just a few days. Diesel was equal too or less than RUG not too long ago. I don't get pissed at gas price increases in general, I just don't understand what they have against diesel specifically.

Then we will have to read the "can I burn XXX because its cheaper than diesel" threads.

I wonder what fluids people will try to burn in these next?

I can't imagine what's left to burn. Then we will have more "I have a french fry stuck in my fuel injector" posts.

This will be one giant whine-o-thon, at least until the price of gasoline catches up with diesel.
