Hey all,

Can someone please tell me where the glow plug relay is located on a '78 240D??

Thanks!

Also, are these very likely to fail and what are the syptoms?

Well, mine is located on the starboard inner fender. But it appears to have been lifted from a GM pickup truck, and is wired to a manual switch under my dash. PO modification.

They do go out from time to time. Symptom is sudden lack of any glow plug function and associated difficutly in starting. I don't recall whether the glow plug light still comes on when the relay is toast. There have been some threads on that here in the past.

It's under the footwell panel on the driver's side. It's a fairly large silver box with 7 pins. Part number is 001 545 2232.
