Possibly found my Merecedes' born on date in the car.

I was searching for leaks in my 84 300D and I noticed what appeared to be was this circular date stamp. It was inside on the passenger side, lower angled 1/2 of the firewall stamped on the sound deadening material.
My car was "born" on 11-09-83.

Yeah, but that only has month and year. This stamp has the exact day.

You can also get the "birthdate" from your car from the MB classic center. Send them off an e-mail with your VIN, and they'll send you the goodies.

Mine does, but neither of our other two do. I think thats when the dealer had the original owner "sign" their new car. Kindof a "taking on a MB" ceremony. The original owner of the car (technically I am the second owner, but a dealer had it a couple months before I got it) was named "Cal Frankenhouser" Wonder if he's even still alive. Probably....and driving around in some Lexus....(the car ended up at auto-auction after he traded it in for a Lexus) Such a terrible thing.....but now I take care of her.

My car was "Born" April 15th, 1982! Two days till its 26th B-day!! (I found this out by getting a full report on the car from the dealer.)

I sort of figured this is the easiest way to find out really how old their cars are if you don't have all that paperwork.
That's unless you've scraped all that material out of your car.

My car's info from the classic center does not have the car's "birthdate".

It is on the "full vehicle report" from a dealer though, just have the service advisor run one off for you, it takes mere seconds....

It'll only take a few seconds to remove the passenger side floor mat.

Mine was 12-27-1982, from the MB information the Classic Center sent me after my query. It's also on the original name plate that goes with the original literature (owner's/maintenance manual - has the original owner's address, information, even the interior color code which isn't found anywhere else on the vehicle).
