Valve adjustment and vacuum lines
Performed a straight-forward and fruitful valve adjust today (my first). However, I got overconfident that I could keep the five vacuum lines to the device (modulator?) that sits on top of the valve cover in place and therefore did not make a diagram. Wrong, wrong, wrong. When I bumped the rotated-out-of-the way modulator (?), the lines ALL came out. Now what?
I was hoping PeterSchmidTransmissions.com would have some advice, but their vacuum diagram for 1981 is a blank page. I placed the five vacuum hoses back into the rubber connector block the best I could remember and the car does run and shift but behaves poorly under load - I'm sure the vacuum lines must be placed back in a certain way. Ran fine before the valve adjustment consequences. This is a 1981 300D non-turbo. Help! Does anyone know where I can find a diagram of connections and functions for the device on top of the valve cover? (A black box with a rubber block coming out the front with provision for five vacuum connections). I think I need a physical view or representional rendering of this rubber block to identify the proper connections. I have inspected for any cracks or other disconnects - all looks fine. Thanks to all.
