Take off the whole grille (chrome frame and all). I think there's two black rubber bumpers screwed in on either side near the bottom of the back side of the grille, and there may be another couple of clips near the middle that also hold the plastic in.

Once you get the plastic off, the chrome inserts slide right off either side if I remember correctly.

Hope that helps.

I think you can just grab them with pliers and wiggle them a bit while pulling them off. It's been a while since I've done it though, so I make no promises!

I just did this job yesterday. Had to repaint my grill from the sand blasting I got in Reno, Nv. last april. Damn that wind blows over there.

The Don is right about the glasses, those little buggers really fly.

the clip rests in a little recess on the plastic grill. notice that the clip curves up a bit on the end. I wiggled the clip back and forth and used two screwdrivers till the curved part was rising up on the plastic some. then used a brass drift and a hammer.

might be a good idea to lay a rag on them to keep them from going air born.
