Another Vibration thread after repairs

So I Replaced/tuned
-motor mounts
-small motor shocks
-rubber tranny mount
-adjusted IP timing
-diesel purge-(did run smother while direct DP but I've been told that's always the case)
-valve adjustment
-Checked for air leak and fuel leaks
-cleaned tank strainer
-recent air filter

and still Have a vibration that shakes the car enough to rattle the exhaust when I'm stopped. When I move it to Park the idle rises and the vibration softens by about 60%.

Thanks for any ideas

Have you done a valve adjustment and replaced all the filters?

Talking

Yeah forgot to add that, and I even checked the valves twice because I thought I could have possibly gotten them off.

Somethings I haven't checked are the chain stretch and pop tested my injectors.
My compression is all 420ish except two that are 320. I've also checked for air leaks and fuel leaks and everything looks good.

I'm bewildered why it smooths out when its in park. Could it be as simple as my idle is to high? It sure doesn't take off the line when I let my foot off the brake.

That 100 psi difference in two cylinders can cause that as well.

When you checked the compression did you do a dry then a wet test? You may want to consider a leak down test next.

What is the idle RPM?
Both of mine shake, at idle of about 600, at 750 or so they smooth out nice.

Unfortunately I didn't do a wet test and did not do a leak down test.
I'll have to try that out on Thursday when its not 105 out. That second oil pan on these cars is really a pooper. I hope it doesn't come down to a rebuild.

As far as the cigar hose I've read quite a few post that it was supposed to help with pulsing in the fuel system, but many people have not noticed a difference with or with out them.

How do you test your idle on a diesel. I thought it was an expensive/part?
Thanks for the help.

I didn't see any mention of doing a rack damper pin adjustment, that could be it. If all else fails, I would suggest servicing your injectors (clean, test, and balance them). I am currently having a rough idle problem that I am nearly certain is related to the injectors. Is your vibration accompanied by any excess smoke?
