Read This Before you EVER buy anything from adsitco

I ordered a set of front Bilstein's for my car online.

A week later I called them and they said they never got my order, but I had a confirmation email from them.....

Anyway I re-ordered the shocks, and they came in yesterday.

Took off the old ones and was about to install new ones, opened the package, and they were the wrong shocks for my make (1980 300sd w116).

I called their number, and they were very rude about the whole situation, like its my problem they sent me the wrong shocks. They are like well its a pretty standard shock, should be correct. I told them there is no way this shock will fit on my front end - totally wrong bolt pattern. He confirmed my make and model, and finally said that he may be able to return them but I had to pay all shipping charges.

I told him its not my fault they sent me the wrong shocks, and that they would need to pay shipping, the guy hung up on me.

I called back, talked to a "supervisor" who was also very rude. I told him I was going to let everyone I knew not to order from him again and that I would file a charge back on the shocks with my credit card company - his response was "is there anything else I can help you with" - and that was it.

Please be careful when you order these people. I will never ever order from them again. The shocks were cheap - on sale for 49 bucks each - but not worth dealing with them.

Any suggestions on how I should handle this also? Does a chargeback sound appropriate?

How are you going to get the shocks back into their inventory without paying for shipping. Will you be able to have your credit card stop payment if you still have the product?

Just another reason to give all your parts business to the EXTREMELY courteous, competent and knowledeable Phil of Fastlane and All Parts Express.

Well they could RMA them like most companies, where they either send an RMA slip or send me the correct shocks and I send the wrong shocks back in the same package.

Or offer to refund the cost of my shipping.

If I send them back, that will be another 15 dollars. Then for them to ship the other ones to me, thats another 15 dollars (they said I have to pay both ways). So thats another 30 dollars that I have to pay for, for a mistake I did not create.

The shipping issue topped everything off - keep in mind that I ordered once and never got anything, then second order they screwed up, never said sorry or anything, continued to be rude and just kept saying look at your terms and conditions. The terms and conditions do say they dont pay shipping charges for returns - but this "return" is not a return of a defect or whatever, they never sent me the correct parts in the first place.

I fully agree with ordering from a trusted place like Phil - thats why I wanted to write this "review" up - to warn other cheap members of other sites

Ive ordered from Phil with no problems at all, but in this case he was charging 20 more per shock, so I was saving $40 by going through adsitco.com - the cheap ass side of me said hell yes, but now in the long run I would have been happy to pay $40 more and be done with this mess, its going to cost me more to get things shipped there and back even if I did comply with their crappy terms.

I wish I had an answer of how to deal with your situation. Unfortunately, that company has bad overall customer service. I ended up with different wheels than I ordered from them due to a mistake they made. I had to pay the shipping as they are asking you to. In my situation they upgraded the wheels at no cost to me so that made up for the extra shipping I had to cover.

When I asked why I had to pay the shipping for a mistake they made, they yelled at me and said they were already upgrading the wheels at no charge and I should "get real". I have grown to like the chrome wheels I now have but I really wanted the silver powder coat and didn't need their attitude.

I just figured I won't deal with them ever again.

Thanks for the heads up. I will make sure that my last order placed with them was just that, the last.

I knew they had a bad reputation with used parts. Apparently they are no better with new parts.

The best that a chargeback is going to do is get you a 100% refund of the money actually paid to the merchant. They won't be able to help you with the return shipping cost.

I've heard things like that before about them. I called them once and couldn't believe how blunt the guy was, that was it for me.

Actual you DO have to pay for shipping even if THEY sent the wrong items.

http://www.adsitco.com/fax/info.asp

Quote:
4. SHIPPING CHARGES: All shipping charges are the customers responsibility. We do not pay any shipping charges. You authorize Adsit Company to charge your credit card for any and all shipping charges, including call tag requests.
...
9. PROBLEM PARTS: Items that are defective, lost, damaged or wrong will be exchanged only, no refunds. We will resolve the problem as quickly as possible. Adsit Co. will not be responsible for labor on defective, damaged, lost or wrong parts.

11. AGREEMENT ON JURISDICTION TO DAMAGES: Adsit Company Inc. and Customers agree that any suit, claim or legal proceedings of any nature between the parties must be filed and prosecuted in Delaware County Indiana and shall be controlled by the laws of the State of Indiana then in effect. Adsit Company Inc. warrants that all parts are in good condition and working order. Any parts that are defective will be replaced. That Adsit Company Inc. liability shall be limited to the original price of the goods and that Adsit Company shall not be responsible for exemplarily, punitive or consequential damages or laber charges. In the event that the buyer fails to pay as agreed, the buyer agrees to pay all attorney fees, court cost, expenses and interest incurred by Adsit Company in the collection of all sums.
Yes, they misspelled "exemplarily" and "laber".

I bent over and paid for a "good used" bumper from them for my SL. Years ago, grandmother had backed into a pole leaving a slight dent.

A "good used" bumper to them means nothing. It was pitted, rusted, and the paint was falling off.

I had to use the good bits from my original bumper to make it work.

Never again!

Right there in their cover-our-own-backsides legal terms (under the "How to Sue Us" section, is how you've got them over a barrel. You ordered for the correct car model; no parts may be said to be in "working order" if they don't even fit to bolt them up.

I looked up Adsitoc policy and their terms are vary harsh. Look at item #9 and 10.
