Any diesel shortages reported in the Southeast?

We hear on the news about the almost complete lack of gasoline in certain areas of the southeast...what about diesel? Is it also lacking in supply or is it just gasoline which is running dry?

Diesel

In Charlotte, NC, this last week 9-29-08, there were as many as 3 days that we experienced no fuel whatsoever in South Charlotte. It even made the NBC nightly news. People without fuel simply parked at the pumps in line waiting for a fuel truck that didnt come. When it arrive, the line were 1/4 mile long backed up on the highway.

The fuel trucks have been flowing all weekend, but still there are lines down the block for those wishing to get gasoline. Diesel is not nearly as difficult to get here. There are stations that are out though.

The fuel stations had fuel. But cant do a lot with it if you have no power! So what would happen is a gas station would bring in a big generator to power everything and then they would run out quick with the long lines. Lets not even go into the road rage seen and experienced around here! We learned from Rita and already decided on key fuel stations, had generators there and full tanks and it was for police and fire only!

In extreme western North Carolina, we have no gas about half the time, rarely have premium, but... diesel is everywhere and the cheapest it has been in weeks. Very satisfying to be the only car fueling up at all these eerie, empty filling stations.

I filled up in Hillsborough last night and Diesel was the only fuel available. It was 3.99/gal. which is OK but not the cheapest. I filled up the truck in Wilson on Saturday and it was 3.89/gal.

Boone, NC:

We have had no diesel supply trucks comming as they are trying to catch up with gasoline first I guess. Most stations are out and have no idea when they will get more. Closest station is off the mountian. I'm not sure if it is good or bad that the SD is down for the time (radiator). I guess I would rather it be up and driving so I can burn whatever I can find . It currrently has 2 galons of used motor oil, 3 gal of D1, and 3 quarts of Veg oil. Runs good, but not long, haha.

I'm in Boone too, I can definitely confirm that.

The Quality Mart about 5 miles north on 421 out of Boone did have diesel yesterday afternoon, as well as 87-only gasoline, but they were limiting purchasers to 10 gallons only of either fuel.

Well, what I meant was that I could confirm that fuel of both types was very hard to find in this area.
