Any interst in 1/0 gauge ground straps?
I am in the process of upgrading battery cables to 1/0 gauge, and I have been looking for a 1/0 gauge ground strap as well. (I know there are very easy alternatives, such as just making a ground wire out of 1/0 gauge welding cable which I am using for battery cables, or just using two 4 gauge ground straps which are easy to find.) But in the process of looking for 1/0 gauge braided ground straps, I found a manufacturer, but I think the minimum order size is ten pieces. I don't know what the price is, but I will find out (it can't be too high...$15 to $20?). I just wonder if others here may be interested in this. It would be 12" long, with a flat fitting on each end with 3/8" hole, and be made of 1/0 gauge tinned copper braid, flat 1 3/8 inches wide for most of its length, except for the ends, which look like 3/4"...very high quality.
I believe this would be a perfect replacement for the ground strap on 123's, which is located below the oil filter housing. I don't know about other models. A nice upgrade for those of us who wish to upgrade battery cables to 1/0 gauge. Drop me a PM if you may be interested...if there is sufficient interest, I will get a price per unit, plus shipping (in think flat rate USPS envelope is about $4.00), and get out to everyone at cost.

Price for ground straps
These ground straps would be $15.56 per item, plus postage, so I would guess just under $20 each total. Also, I can get them in 14"....not too long for the 123's, and maybe a good size for other models. See attached picture.
These are 1/0 gauge, tinned copper, 3/8 holes on each end. Let me know if you are interested. Mark

This site is great!
I also found good stuff at www.remybattery.com (or is it www.remy.com), but not as much as on this site. Thanks a lot.
Half-inch stud holes on the ground strap may be a little large, but nothing a washer wont solve. I'm glad to find a 1/0 gauge strap....very scarce! I can't believe this site you directed me to has the brass "extender nut" that gives clearance away from the battery lug to attach accessory/alternator wires. I was going to devise something similar using a "threaded rod connector"...I assumed I couldn't find one in brass, but this item on that web site is brass! Exactly what I was looking for (someone else actually thought of this before me!) Thanks, Mark
