Front motor noise ,maybe a/c compressor ,undo the belt and start their .How many other possibles do I have?

If it's not an engine knocking sound I'd say check the alternator bearings for play; it could possibly be the vacuum pump. Attaching a vacuum gauge(Mityvac, etc.) to the vacuum line when running would tell you if that was the problem.

Are all the pulleys tight?

How's your power steering fluid level and condition? Black fluid and a gummed up filter might make the power steering pump whine.
